Some problems of nonlinear waves in solid propellant rocket motorsAn approximate technique for analyzing nonlinear waves in solid propellant rocket motors is presented which inexpensively provides accurate results up to amplitudes of ten percent. The connection with linear stability analysis is shown. The method is extended to third order in the amplitude of wave motion in order to study nonlinear stability, or triggering. Application of the approximate method to the behavior of pulses is described.
