Quadratic image destripingAn algorithm for removing second-order detector banding effects (striping) from digital imagery is described. This quadratic destriping method is basically an extension of a linear method to one higher degree. It provides a nonlinear alternative between the two-parameter linear correction and a multilinear histogram equalization approach. The application of the proposed technique to GOES visible imagery is discussed, and its effectiveness is compared to existing methods.
