Cometary nucleus release experiments and ice physicsSome physical and chemical processes involved in the evaporation and sublimation of mixtures of frozen gases are discussed. Effects of zero gravity, vacuum, and solar radiation are emphasized. Relevant experiments that can be carried out with the aid of the space shuttle are proposed.
