Real-time digital image enhancementA programmable system for enhancing monocular and stereographic images at video rates is presented. The system provides both automatic and interactive enhancement modes based on histogram modification and intensity mapping techniques. Experimental results which illustrate enhancement capabilities under a variety of scene types and conditions are described.
