An analysis of the cloud fields simulated by the GLAS climate modelThe cloud field produced by the climate model was analyzed. The following items are discussed: (1) reasonable cloudiness production by the model; (2) comparison of the amount of model generated cumulus cloudiness to super saturation cloudiness; and (3) the size and effect of cumulus clouds on radiation balance. It is shown that the scattered, small scale cumulus clouds occur more frequently than the horizontally wide spread supersaturation clouds in the low latitudes and mid troposphere.
