The Historical Trend in Float-Zone Crystal Diameters and Power Requirements for Float Zoned Silicon CrystalsThe power needed to zone silicon crystals by radio frequency heating was analyzed. The heat loss mechanisms are examined. Curves are presented for power as a function of crystal diameter for commercial silicon zoning.
