Fire-Resistant CompositesResin blend produces high-char-yield, low-smoke composites. Diglycidyl Ether of Bis-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-Fluorene is prepared by reacting epichlorohydrin and sodium hydroxide with 9,9-bis(hydroxyphenyl) fluorene. End of reaction determined by gas or liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy or infrared techniques. Used to manufacture printed circuit boards and panels for buildings, ships and aircraft.
