Improved Radiative Control of Ribbon GrowthShield modifications enhance growth rate while reducing silicon oxide formation. Control of dendritic-web crystal growth requires precise control of web temperature profile. Achieved by using series of thermal radiation shields to control thermal-radiation field in region where melt solidifying onto crystal ribbon being pulled from melt.
