Crop proportion estimation problems in AgRISTARSSome mathematical/statistical problems within the AgRISTARS program amendable to investigations involving the use of surface fitting techniques are overviewed. The Bayes and maximum likelihood rules, bias determination, regression estimators, parameter estimation, and classifier design are addressed.
