Physics of the Jovian magnetosphereJupiter's magnetic field and magnetosphere are considered along with the ionosphere, the low-energy plasma in the Jovian magnetosphere, the low-energy particle population, high-energy particles, and spectrophotometric studies of the Io torus. Other topics explored are related to the phenomenology of magnetospheric radio emissions, plasma waves in the Jovian magnetosphere, theories of radio emissions and plasma waves, and magnetospheric models. Attention is also given to aspects of plasma distribution and flow, microscopic plasma processes in the Jovian magnetosphere, symbols and acronyms, coordinate systems, and selected physical parameters of Jupiter and Io.
