Application of data management to thermal/structural analysis of space trussesA relational data base management system has been used for managing engineering data in a prototype computerized thermal/structural integrated design system. The resulting system has been applied to the analysis of a tetrahedral space truss to demonstrate and evaluate the ability to store, retrieve, query, modify, and manipulate data. Key software used includes relational data management software, several applications programs, and selected integrated software developed during the study. Results discussed include system development, system use and performance, and advantages of an integrated data management system.
