Predicting Severe DuststormsCombined human/machine forecasting technique shows promise. Severe duststorms in Great Plains forecast with fair reliability. Forecasts derived from combination of human expertise and variety of meteorological information sources, including all current and recent weather observations, standard National Meteorological Center (NMC) computer analyses for surface and upper air, and NMC 12-, 24-, 36-, and 48-hour prognostication charts generated by Limited Fine Mesh computer model.
