Progress in containerless science and technologiesOne of the unique features of space which cannot be reproduced on earth is long duration zero gravity. Experiments that take the greatest advantage that space can offer are containerless processing experiments. This is precisely the reason why NASA has developed a variety of containerless processing technologies and facilities to allow the scientific community to perform experiments prior to and during Space Shuttle flights. This paper will briefly review recent progress in some of these technologies and facilities.
