Dynamic characterization and microprocessor control of the NASA/UVA proof mass actuatorThe self-contained electromagnetic-reaction-type force-actuator system developed by NASA/UVA for the verification of spacecraft-structure vibration-control laws is characterized and demonstrated. The device is controlled by a dedicated microprocessor and has dynamic characteristics determined by Fourier analysis. Test data on a cantilevered beam are shown.
