Experimental method for the determination of two-photon cross sections using four-wave mixingThe two-photon absorption cross section for the R22 + S12(J double prime = 9 1/2) transition in nitric oxide's gamma band has been determined. The value is in good agreement with previous measurements on several other NO transitions. The technique described here can be used to obtain accurate cross sections for other diatomic molecules.
