Nutational stability of a spinning spacecraft with internal mass motion and axial thrustStability conditions are developed for a spinning spacecraft with internal mass motion and axial thrust. The results show that rapid cone angle growth is possible if the thrust magnitude is sufficiently large and the moving mass is aft of the system mass center. The instability does not rely on internal or external dissipation.
