Opticians as astronautsOne of the most useful tasks to be carried out at the Space Station will be the making of large precision telescopes. It will become possible to assemble optics bigger than can be launched in one piece. A further step would be to take advantage of extraordinarily favorable conditions in space for testing and even manufacturing optics. In this short paper, these two aspects are considered.
