Effect of pituitary hollow fiber units and thyroid supplementation on growth in the little mouse (41949)It is shown that the implantation of encapsulated pituitary cells into heterozygous lit/+ mice inhibited the average percentage change in weight gain as compared to controls. However, homozygous lit/lit mice receiving cell-filled capsules consistently had higher percentage weight gains than their control counterparts. It was also found that thyroid-supplemented mutant mice with pituitary cell implants had significantly higher organ and carcass weights than other mutant groups.
