Sublid Speeds Growth Of Silicon RibbonHeat shield permits enhancement of exit cooling without formation of unwanted crystals. Thermal barrier between molten silicon and lid of susceptor and crucible allows solidifying ribbon of silicon to be withdrawn faster. Barrier, or sublid, increases production rate.
