Automated satellite control in AdaThe Advanced Ground Segment, a prototype satellite/payload operations control center workstation, which represents an evolutionary effort to improve the automation of control centers while improving software practices and supporting distributed control center functions, is described. Multiple levels of automation are supported through a rule-based control strategy. The architecture provides the necessary interfaces and modularity for future inclusion of more sophisticated control strategies.
