The evolution of the system of globular clustersThe physical processes affecting the evolution of the system of globular clusters are reviewed. Aspects of internal structure evolution discussed include evaporation, core collapse, expansion, tidal shocks, and interaction with other massive components of the Galaxy such as black holes, molecular clouds, and other clusters. The evolution of orbital parameters is examined, including dynamical friction, scattering by massive subcomponents, and interactions with nearby systems. In addition, an overview of the system evolution is presented.
