A numerical study of the contrarotating vortex pair associated with a jet in a crossflowAn implicit two-factor partially flux split solver for the thin-layer Navier-Stokes equations is used to solve the aerodynamic/propulsive interaction between a subsonic jet exhausting perpendicularly through a flat plat plate into a crossflow. The algorithm is applied to flows with a range of jet to crossflow velocity ratios between 4 and 8. The computed velocity field is analyzed and comparisons are made with experimentally determined properties of the contrarotating vortex pair.
