Infrared opportunities for supernova 1987AIR observations of SN 1987A are reviewed, focusing on the IR processes in the supernova. IR line emission, IR emission from supernova condensates, IR echoes, IR emission from shock-heated dust, and IR emission from a cometary cloud are examined. A list is given of IR studies of SN 1987A and the characteristics of the instruments used in these studies. Preliminary results from several IR studies are considered.
