The effect of temperature on the deformation structure of single crystal nickel based superalloysResults for the temperature dependence of the yield and flow stress were obtained for the superalloys PWA 1480 and CMSX-2. An extended Copley-Kear (1967) model is used to predict flow stresses from the dislocation densities measured at different strains and temperatures. Differences found between the two superalloys include the development of their dislocation structure, their ductility, and their work hardening characteristics.
