Surface grid generation for flowfield applications using B-spline surfacesThe adequate discretization of the flowfield domain in structured grid techniques depends on the body surface, the zones, and the interior grid. Attention is presently given to the problem of obtaining a versatile surface-definition and grid-generation technique; a general surface grid-generation technique is presented which develops three-dimensional patches from point data. The grid is generated on a two-dimensional field on the basis of either a direct or inverse interpolation procedure. It is then mapped onto physical space to yield the surface grid.
