Reducing Aerodynamic Drag Of Bluff BodiesNew method found to reduce aerodynamic drag of noncircular bluff bodies like road-transport vehicles. Consists of installation of thin, flat panels on forward side of body, facing airstream. Produces streamlining effect over body. Width of wake reduced, and vortex shedding is greatly suppressed.
