A contribution toward rational modeling of the pressure-strain-rate correlationA novel method of obtaining an analytical expression of the 'linear part' of the pressure-strain-rate tensor in terms of the anisotropy tensor of the Reynolds stresses has been developed, where the coefficients of the seven independent tensor terms are functions of the invariants of the Reynolds-stress anisotropy. The coefficients are evaluated up to fourth order in the anisotropy of the Reynolds stresses to provide guidance for development of a turbulence model.
