Recombination measurements in microwave plasma afterglowsThe physical implications of problems arising during afterglow-plasma dissociative recombination experiments are discussed, summarizing recent results. Typical numerical data are compiled in tables, and particular attention is given to (1) microwave heating of electrons in afterglow plasmas, (2) the role of vibrationally excited ions in afterglows, (3) electron-ion recombination at high ambient gas densities, and (4) ion-ion recombination.
