Thermographic inspection of solid-fuel rocket booster field joint componentsThermographic nondestructive evaluation techniques were investigated for possible application on Space Shuttle solid rocket booster field joint hardware. This investigation included evaluation of the clevis and tang mating surfaces for scratches and measurement of grease film thickness. The field joint insulation system was inspected for voids and disbonds.
