High-temperature slow-strain-rate compression studies on CoAl-TiB2 compositesResults are presented of compressive deformation tests performed on particulate-reinforced CoAl-TiB2 composites in the temperature range 1100-1300 K. Hot-pressed and postdeformation microstructures were characterized by TEM and by optical microscopy. It was found that the addition of TiB2 particles improves the deformation resistance of the matrix, due to dislocation-particle interactions.
