Long-time behaviour of absorbing boundary conditionsA new class of computational far-field boundary conditions for hyperbolic partial differential equations was recently introduced by the authors. These boundary conditions combine properties of absorbing conditions for transient solutions and properties of far-field conditions for steady states. This paper analyses the properties of the wave equation coupled with these new boundary conditions: well-posedness, dissipativity and convergence in time.
