Microsandwich cellular solidsThis article introduces a new concept of microsandwiching in which the cell wall itself is a sandwich structure and is substantially stiffer. Some experimental results are presented to show the efficacy of this approach. A method for optimizing the design of honeycomb microsandwich is also briefly outlined.
