Fuel Systems Architecture (FSA) evaluation criteria and concept evaluation methodologyConsideration is given to two methods developed for the evaluation, screening, and ranking of concepts for Space Exploration Initiative vehicle propellant management systems. The methods selected for handling this multicriteria decision problem are based on the utility theory which transforms both qualitative and quantitative criteria into a nondimensional utility scale for comparison of dissimilar figures of merit. The development of the resultant FSA evaluation criteria and concept evaluation methodology is summarized.
