A proposed mechanism for Pt/SnO(x)-catalyzed CO oxidationA mechanism for Pt/SnO(x)-catalyzed CO oxidation is proposed, which is consistent with a broad range of experimental observations. CO oxidation catalysts with high activity at or near room temperature are used in closed-cycle CO2 lasers and air purification.
