Laboratory Produces YBa2Cu3O7-x Superconductive FilmsVacuum deposition system modified at low cost to produce superconducting thin films in quantities for development of new detector devices. Modification included installation of two additional electrical-resistance-heated sources. Films processed to make sensing elements of infrared-transition-edge bolometers and superconducting-quantum-interference-device (SQUID) junctions for SQUID magnetometer sensors.
