Smoother Conversion From Helicopter To AirplaneProposed high-speed rotorcraft converts between rotating-wing flight and fixed-wing flight without high vibration. Functions both while hovering and moving at transonic or low supersonic speeds. Aircraft takes off and hovers like ordinary helicopter. After accelerating to sufficient forward speed for conversion, rotor blades retracted into large, rotating hub fairing. Rotation then stopped. Two blades extended to serve as wings, and aircraft accelerates to its cruising speed.
