Computer Data-Entry System Facilitates ProofreadingVisual optical-electronic display for encoding and measurement (VODEM) is system of computer data-entry and display equipment and associated software. Designed to reduce significantly rate of errors in text or other data entered manually or by optical character-recognition equipment and eases task of proofreading those data. Accuracy increased and stress reduced. Provides head-on display including two texts or sets of data to be compared. Developed in large-screen and small-screen version differing mainly in display equipment. Large-screen version includes cathode-ray-tube video display; small-screen version includes smaller liquid-crystal display mounted on computer-controlled x-y drive.
