Geometry control in adaptive truss structuresForward and inverse kinematics equations are derived for the large geometry maneuver of adaptive trusses. A new algorithm based on higher-order multistep methods is proposed as a means of computing the length control for a described large geometry maneuver. The algorithm is shown to improve in computational speed at least five times over the algorithm presented in an earlier paper. The acceleration in control computation and other features such as varying velocity profiles and curved trajectories are illustrated by simulation results.
