The mass of NeptuneA comprehensive evaluation is conducted of the numerous attempts to estimate the mass of Neptune. It is noted that the two primary methods to mass-determination, respectively based on planetary perturbations and satellite motions, yield results of virtually equal accuracy for the mass of this planet. The attempts discussed encompass Triton observations, the values of Newcomb (1874), photographic observations, and values recently obtained from planetary and spacecraft observations.
