Multiwavelength studies of early type galaxiesNew IUE spectra of the southern galaxies NGC 1326 and NGC 1808 are presented from an in-progress program to study early-type galaxies, and these are compared with four archival spectra. The targets were selected on the basis of their IRAS emission, peculiarities in their dust structure as revealed from CCD frames, and the presence of HI from 21-cm data. The signature of early spectral-type stars is correlated with UV extinction and IR excess.
