Instability mode interactions in a spatially developing plane wakeDirect numerical simulations are used to study the development of various instability modes in a spatially developing 2D wake. Five types of forcing of the inlet are investigated: fundamental mode, fundamental and one or two subharmonics, fundamental mode and random noise, and random noise only. Statistical analyses are carried out, and some numerical results are compared with experimental measurements.
