Unsteady airfoil flow solutions on moving zonal gridsEuler and Navier-Stokes solutions for airfoil flows on zonal grids are presented. The governing equations are solved with an implicit, iterative, factorized numerical scheme. The inviscid fluxes are examined with a third-order accurate upwind method. Zonal grid solutions are compared with experimental measurements for flows over airfoils at fixed angles of incidence. The computed unsteady solutions for rapidly pitching and oscillating airfoils are in good agreement with experiments.
