Remote sensing cloud properties from simulated MODIS observationsOne of the objectives of the MODIS program is to establish a global cloud climatology that can address the effects of cirrus and opaque clouds on the Earth Radiation Budget. The paper describes the cloud retrieval techniques developed for MODIS-N IR observations and presents results of a study of remote sensing cloud properties using simulated MODIS observations at different cirrus cloud conditions.
