Analysis of two-dimensional ducts with sudden area changes using the boundary element methodIn this paper, the boundary element method (BEM) is applied to two-dimensional acoustic ducts with sudden area changes. The mathematical basis of BEM along with the technique of handling singularities is presented in a systematic manner. The computer code is verified by comparison with the exact solutions and a number of illustrative examples are included.
