Photographic System Makes Path Of Vortex VisibleSystem making rapid flows visible developed to record track followed by ring vortex when encountering object near its path. Schlieren optical setup includes standard Z-configuration mirror arrangement and pulsed, synchronized source of light. System proves valuable in determining position, velocity, and acceleration of vortex as it passes over and interacts with object in its path.
