High temperature viscoplastic ratchetting - Material response or modeling artifactSome of the basic issues of ratchetting behavior that are being addressed by the viscoplastic modeling community are discussed. Some of the shortcomings of existing viscoplastic models are examined in the light of the difficulty involved in using established viscoplastic modeling techniques to predict ratchetting accurately.
