Two-phase pressure drop of ammonia in small diameter horizontal tubesData for pressure drop in adiabatic two-phase ammonia flows in small diameter horizontal tubes are presented. The data has direct application to the sizing of the flow-through radiator tubes in the Space Station Freedom heat rejection system. The data are compared to existing correlations for pressure drop and are found to be significantly lower than the most commonly used correlations. However, several of the less commonly used correlations predict the data accurately. Alternate pressure drop prediction methods are explored and a recommendation is made for a method to accurately predict the pressure drop in two-phase ammonia flows in small horizontal tubes.
