Progress in understanding the renormalization group skewness and kappa-epsilon modelsThe immediate goal is to understand and validate the Yakhot-Orszag model of the velocity-derivative skewness and model equation for the rate of energy dissipation epsilon. A summary of a more detailed manuscript in preparation is presented. The purpose is to clarify some limitations of the theory by careful examination of key assumptions and approximations, and thereby to encourage its improvement.
