Floating-Pinion Torque SplitterDesigned-in looseness at right locations helps to distribute torques more evenly. Gear-drive mechanism helps to apportion torques nearly equally along two parallel drive paths from input bevel gear to output bull gear. Mechanism of this type used as part of redundant drive train between engine and rotor of helicopter. Weighs less than comparably rated prior torque-splitting mechanisms.
