Designing Bolted Joints Between Composite PlatesSimplified methods developed for use in preliminary design and analysis of bolted joints between flat composite-material plates loaded in tension. Analysis also applicable to joints between composite and metal plates. Methods based on approximate equations for limiting stresses in single-bolt joint in five modes of failure: local-bearing-failure, net tension, wedge-type splitting, shear-out, and tension with shear-out.
